Monroe's Lounge has announced their entertainment options for you to consider when booking your "My Big Date Night" package.  The entertainment options below are included in Package 3 and Package 4.

Friday 2/14 and 2/21:  Karaoke from 9pm-1am with Sounds Of The Rockies Entertainment Group

Saturday 2/15: “The Ryan Middagh Jazz Quartet” from 6pm-9pm (UNC Doctorates, amazing combo)

Saturday 2/22:  “Kurt, Jen & friends”, 7pm-10pm Electric Cello, Guitar and vocals, alternative covers and originals. 

Dinner Selections:

Flat Iron
 8.oz flat iron steak, flame grilled to order. Served with potato choice or brown rice, asparagus, & a dinner roll. Grilled with just a touch of our house steak seasoning.
 
 Ahi Tuna Steak
 6 0z Sashimi grade tuna steak, served with your choice of two styles: oven baked sesame teriyaki glaze, or pan cooked with Cajun blackened spices.  Placed atop a bed of spring greens, with fluffy brown rice or potato choice & chef cut asparagus on the side.

Lobster Ravioli 
 Large carefully crafted lobster and cheese stuffed ravioli served with a delicate sunset rouge sauce, and your choice of dressings on a Monroe’s house salad.

Mediterranean Chicken Breast
Grilled chicken breast, topped with chopped onions, garlic, olives, banana peppers, feta cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic dressing. Served with brown rice, or potato choice.  

Lamb T-Bone Steaks
Two five ounce lamb T-Bone steaks,  grilled medium with a touch of our house seasoning, and served with asparagus, and brown rice or potato choice.  

For more than 40 years, the streets of the Sweetheart City have been lined each February with hundreds of wooden hearts. Many proclaim personalized words of affection, devotion and admiration in 25 letters or fewer. Thompson Valley Rotary has been managing the program for nearly 20 years.

Community members can request nearly anything written on the hearts. Each message will be stenciled on the heart with the help of local students. Proceeds of the sales go to help children locally and abroad through the Thompson Valley Rotary Club.

Three Northern Colorado businesses roll out “My Big Date Night,” a Valentine’s Day getaway in Loveland

Loveland, Colorado January 7, 2014 – It’s been the sweetheart city since 1877, and now there is a great reason to make Loveland, Colorado your destination this Valentine’s Day.  Three Loveland-based businesses have come together to create My Big Date Night, a package that includes dining, beer and spirit tasting and an overnight stay at one of three local hotels.

"Loveland has been an art destination for years, but we also want people to realize it’s a wonderful Valentine’s Day destination,” said Christine Kovacs Forster, founder of My Big Day Events, LLC, an event planning company in Loveland. Ms. Forster, along with Mechelle Martz-Mayfield, owner of NOCO Short Bus Tours, LLC, a brewery tour service, and Heidi Kerr-Schlaefer, founder of HeidiTown.com, the place for Colorado festival and travel information, came together to create My Big Date Night.

The package is available on February 14th and 15th and again on February 21st and 22nd, with brewery tours available on Fridays and distillery tours available on Saturdays. Each package includes transportation, tasters at each stop and an overnight stay including dinner for two at La Quinta Inn, Best Western or Embassy Suites.

“The prices vary depending on which hotel you choose,” said Martz-Mayfield. “Embassy Suites is offering a decadent meal just for this event, so a stay with them will be more expensive, however, all the versions are affordable at between $226 and $325. There’s even a $150 option with dinner and the brewery or distillery tour only, but our hope is that people will make a weekend out of it and will stay overnight.” 

Other package amenities include a gift bag stuffed with offers from local businesses and a cupcake at the end of the night from B Sweet Cupcakes in downtown Loveland.

“This is about fun and romance in the Sweetheart City,” said Kerr-Schlaefer. “It will be a memorable way for folks from across the Front Range to experience Loveland, and hopefully they will be inspired to come back to experience it again and again.”

The Loveland Chamber of Commerce  unveiled the 2014 official Loveland Valentine card and cachet. (Visit www.loveland.org for details on where to buy the card and where to send your valentines to receive the special cachet stamp.)
