NEW FEATURE! The Namaqua Heart
Romance illuminates the sky in Loveland. Life Scout, Noah Kreutzer, with Troop 314 built and installed an LED heart on Namaqua Ridge to shine during the Valentines season. Noah loved the existing Holiday Star since he was a young child, and could see it out of his bedroom window. Adding a heart to the existing infrastructure of the star seemed like a natural fit for The Sweetheart City. The Heart will be lit from January 1st to after Valentines Day, shining over Loveland.

WEATHER ALERT - 2.14.21

2/14/2021

(emailed to all guests on 2/13/21)

Dear Wedding & Vow Renewal Guests,

With your safety and the safety of our vendors and partners in mind, we are altering the plan for your ceremony tomorrow to the Plan B we mentioned.
Here is what you can expect:

  *   Registration looks the same for timing.
  *   The photo booth experience is the same.
  *   Valentina will be onsite still for photos with everyone.
  *   Your ceremony will move indoors. This allows for the full ceremony, live music, and a more comfortable experience.
  *   The ceremony location is at the same address as registration. It is an all white, indoor space- perfect for a wedding, considering the weather.
  *   Post ceremony, enjoy a celebratory toast right outside the doors of your ceremony. The walkway will be heated for you as well.
  *   The best part: The entire sculpture park is filled with vignettes, such as a heart tunnel of love, for you to take photos. The light dusting of snow will be ideal for photo ops!
  *   We will have multiple photographers available to capture photos outdoors. Our event planners can take photos with your camera as well.

The slight change to ceremony location is based on the latest weather reports, and COVID safety regulations. Our team cares most about your safety and overall experience.
By hosting the ceremony indoors, this allows you to enjoy the music and the message, then use the limited time you want to spend in the cold to take memorable photos!

COVID Safety:
With an indoor space, this understandably limits our guest count compared to the outdoor space. The venue is very large. Based on the square footage, we can allow no more than 100 guests. We ask that you not bring guests with you indoors, unless you need to have small children who are in your care. The state law and county regulations changed about a week ago to allow for more people indoors for events and life celebrations. Based on the square footage calculator, 100 people is our cap.
Our team will be masked, you will see signage and hand sanitizer everywhere, you will receive a new pen for you to keep when signing your certificate.... we will take every precaution to keep you safe so you can enjoy your Big Day!

We are so excited to celebrate your love tomorrow!
We wish the weather were warmer, but the day will be perfect regardless!

Reporter Herald Article from 12/30/16

PictureDave Pierson jogs around Foote Lagoon on Thursday in downtown Loveland. The city of Loveland and the Loveland Chamber of Commerce is supporting My Big Day for the first Loveland Valentine's Day group wedding ceremony at Foote Lagoon. (Jenny Sparks / Loveland Reporter-Herald)
With a name like Loveland, a group wedding and renewal ceremony on Valentine's Day seems to be the perfect fit.
"There has been a big request for it for a lot of years," said Christine Kovacs Forster, president and events manager for My Big Day. The company organizes many events from life celebrations to corporate events as well as party planning, marketing and more.
The first Loveland Valentine's Day Group Wedding will begin with registration at 2 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Gertrude Scott Room at the Loveland Public Library. 300 N. Adams, Loveland. The ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Foote Lagoon Amphitheater in Civic Center Park, Third Street and Washington Avenue.

"We want people to still be able to see each other, and we can still take photos," Forster said of the time as the sun should set about 5:30 p.m. that day.
The ceremony will be officiated by K99's Morning Show host, Todd Harding.
The cost is $30 per person to participate, which does not include a marriage license. Couples getting married must get their own marriage license prior to the event and must bring it with their IDs to registration.
Those renewing their vows will only need to purchase tickets and present IDs at registration.
Ticket cost includes a few gifts for the newlyweds. Along with the certificate signed by the officiant, they will get a personalized photo by Memorybox Photos, cupcakes from B Sweet Cupcakes, a gift bag and a chance to win a large gift basket.

"There are still a lot of partners working on what we want in that gift basket but it will be all things Northern Colorado," she said. The gift bag and gift basket items will be from local places to encourage participants to visit local businesses either between the registration and the ceremony or after.

"We will cut (tickets) off the morning of the wedding," Forster said. The company has not put a limit on how many tickets will be available but the ceremony will not exceed the 300-seat capacity of the venue.
"It's really for the couples, not large groups of spectators," Forster said. Couples are asked not to bring family or friends to witness the unions so there is enough room for all couples.
The event joins many traditions for Loveland in February including the valentine remailing program, Fire and Ice Festival, the annual valentine coffee and beer, Miss Valentine and more.

"It's an exciting collaboration between our entities to help highlight the valentine initiative and build this energy around the Sweetheart City," said Mindy McCloughan, president and CEO of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.
Forster said it will be a great opportunity for couples to do something different on Valentine's Day.
"It's just a really unique way to celebrate Valentine's Day without thinking of another kind of gift," she said. There is the added bonus that it provides an alternative wedding option.
"It's an affordable way to get married for folks that want to say I do who may run to courthouse if that's there only option, far more romantic than the courthouse," Forster said.

Foote Lagoon will be decorated for the occasion. Couples will receive a survey following their ticket purchase to vote for their favorite wedding song and readings to make the event a little more personal. The top choices in songs will be performed by Brandon Sipes at the ceremony.
Forster hopes this will become a tradition for Loveland and that couples will take advantage of this first year.
"It's always great to say that you did something in the first year, that you were part of it from the beginning," she said.
